El día a las en el Salón de Actos del Centro de Investigaciones Médico Sanitaria (CIMES), Universidad de Málaga se celebrará la conferencia perteneciente al ciclo de conferencias de IBIMA titulada “The role of microglia during early postnatal immune activation is critical for both Social and Spatial memory in a mouse model of Tuberous Sclerosis”, que será impartida por el Dr. Manuel Francisco López Aranda.
Dr. Manuel F. López Aranda received his Ph.D. in 2010 from University of Malaga. Immediately after Ph.D., he joined the laboratory of Alcino Silva as Postdoctoral Fellow at University of California-Los Angeles, where currently, he is Assistant Project Scientist. His discovery of implication of area V2 of visual cortex in processing of long-term memory was a landmark finding that has not only served in advancing our understanding of how memory is synthesized in brain, but also provided as strategic tool for remedy against memory dysfunctions. He remains continued to strive in the field of learning and memory and has received more than 10 awards for his research achievements, including International Human Frontier Science Fellow in year 2011, Young Investigator Award from Foundation Biogen IDEC in 2012, and Young Investigator Award from Children´s Tumor foundation in 2014
