Porf. Rajiv Jalan is a clinical academic with a strong focus on translational research. He is the Head of the Liver Failure Group at University College London (UCL). His research is focused on molecular pathogenesis of liver failure and has led to the identification of acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) as a new clinical entity. He provides leadership in ACLF and is a founder member of the EASL CLIF Consortium.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hepatology
